Decorating my home, my happy place is one of my favorite things to do. Everything I do is on a budget and I have been seeing these farmhouse stacked book decor everywhere. My pin inspiration inspired me to make some 2×4 Wooden Book Stack Craft with Scrap Wood. The August Pinterest Challenge Blog Hop hosted by My Pinterventures is the perfect time to make some pins that I’ve loved to add to my home decor. These are going to look great on my open kitchen shelves.
I love my kitchen book stack so much that I just create a fall book stack decoration. This one is just a little different, but I hope it inspires you to create some for the fall too.

Let’s Create 2×4 Wooden Book Stack Craft
To get started I looked at our scrap wood pile. Right there on my husbands tool bench were the perfect scrap 2×4 for this. They were even the right length so I just had to sand the edges of them and give the top and sides a quick sanding. The bottom 2×4 is 8 inches, the middle is 7.5 inches, and the top one is 7 inches. My husband was happy he didn’t have to do anything. Personally I like the variety of the different sizes stacked on top of each other, but you might like all your book blocks to be the same size.
I decided to use the block 2×4 craft project to decorate my open kitchen shelves. I’m still trying to decide on decor for a few of them. Since my open shelves are white, I chose to paint them Sherwin Williams Dovetail, it’s a dark gray, the color of our bottom kitchen cabinets.
Decorating Your 2×4 Wooden Book Stack Craft
To decorate the binding of my scrap wood books, I’m going to make the saying with Cricut Permanent Black Vinyl,.
In Cricut Design Space I designed the Happiness is Homemade SVG to fit on the side of the block wood that’s the pretend book binding. To create the SVG, I took happiness and homemade from other svgs and did is using the font Desmond.
I weeded the design using my Cricut Tools and then used transfer paper to add it to the book.
To finish off the 2×4 wooden books craft with scrap wood, I added grey buffalo check ribbon around the books and hot glued the ribbon to the back. This ribbon is from Joanns, I was so happy when I found it because it matches the kitchen perfectly!
I’m in love with these cute, easy, and creative 2×4 wooden books. Isn’t it splendid what you can make with 2×4 scrap wood blocks? Just pick your favorite quote and get started!
