My family is batty year round which is why I love them so. I came across a wooden bat at the Target Dollar Spot and had to get it. It made me think of the “Batty for Daddy/Mommy” Halloween shirts that are super cute. It was my inspiration for this Batty For Halloween Sign.
If you new to the Cricut world, this project is perfect for you. It’s an easy vinyl project to create. I’ve also shared my file to create your own sign.

Let’s Create a Batty for Halloween Sign
Get started by painting the bat black. I was undecided about the color, but my kids really wanted a black bat (I was going to be more creative).
I like to let my painted projects dry 24 hours before adding the vinyl. Sometimes if you put the vinyl on to soon, the transfer tape will pull up the paint.
Measure the sections of the bat and create the words Batty for Halloween in Cricut Design Space™. I used the font Cherry Limeade in Design Space. This font is tricky because it makes the letters different colors. For this font, make each letter the same color and then attach the letters to create the words. I shared my file, but if you ever use the font in the future, it’s good to know. Cut the words in permanent vinyl and weed the design.
Place the words, then use transfer tape to add them to your bat. Your Cricut Tools will come in handy to weed the design and to use the scraper for the transfer tape.
Batty for Halloween is all set for the Halloween festivities and will make a great decoration. I can’t decide if I should hang it up or place it on a shelf, too many choices.
