I made my daughters day by bring home this thrift store find of a clothespin picture holder. She was so excited that she finally is going to have a picture holder like her brother. Kids are so funny! My daughter did ooh and ahh over the design, but it doesn’t match her room at all. I made her a cute unicorn DIY clothespin Picture Holder. This adorable wall decor is pretty quick and is an easy DIY.
The Rules:

And now for more thrifty goodness!
Most of my Upcycle projects this year have been for my daughters bedroom. I made her a glitter accessories box, a picture frame, a Barbie Organizer, and a Hair Accessories Holder. If you ask me that’s quite a bit, but none of them were a place to put photos like her brothers Memory Board . One of my favorite things to do is create wall decor for my kids bedrooms. It makes it personalized to what they love.
Do you ever search for something that’s the color tag that’s 50% off that week? That was my goal when I went thrifting last, I bought this hanging clothespin picture holder for 1.26 and a picture frame for the same price. That’s a thrift store score, plus they are both easy DIY projects.

Let’s Create a Cute Unicorn DIY Clothespin Picture Holder
To get started I put painters tape on the clothespins. The clothespins are attached so I can’t take them off. Then I started painting the frame white. I wasn’t going to paint the inside, but I decided to since I have the paint out and it’s better to be safe then sorry. The cute unicorn card stock I’m using is a thick heavy card stock, but it might still show through. I painted around the clothespins and then once it dries, I’m going to move the clothespins and paint those spots.
Once the frame is completely dry, using my Cricut Maker I cut an 11×11 square of the unicorn card stock to put in the frame. Using card stock is a creative way to make the photo display personalized and unique. Scrapbook paper comes in so many designs and colors.
My original plan was to Mod Podge the paper to the holder, but the holder is not completely square and I didn’t want it to stick in the wrong place. So I used double sided tape instead to hold it in place.
I carefully slid the paper under the string and put it in place. We ended up having an absolute beautiful day so I used the Clear Mod Podge Matte Sealer instead. I did 3 coats on the unicorn picture holder.
When the frame is ready, hang it on the wall and start displaying those photos. My kids love having photos of family, friends, and pets in their bedrooms. This one is great because it hangs not the wall and is the perfect size for her bedroom.
This will be our last thrift store challenge for this year! Enjoy your holiday season and I will see you in January for more thrift store finds.
