August is sunflower time to me. This time of the year I love to put up my sunflower decorations. Every year on the local news I see the Sunflowers of Sanborn and this year we finally went. It was beautiful and amazing to see all the sunflowers, I’ll talk more about the experience later. I created a sunflower picture frame to celebrate the sunflower field. We our going to make this a family tradition to go every year.

Supplies for Cute Sunflower Picture Frame Craft
Black Chalkboard (this one is similar)
Yellow Oracal 651 Vinyl
Brown Oracal 651 Vinyl
White ORACAL 651 Vinyl
Lime Green Oracal 651 Vinyl
Transfer Tape
Cricut Maker
Cricut Tools
In Cricut Design Space I designed my frame. I made a black rectangle the size of the chalkboard and even added a picture size rectangle to make sure everything fit. It’s super cute, right? I found this perfectly sized chalkboard at Walmart for $1.97.
I cut my design using my Cricut Maker and then weeded the design.
Those sunflower centers were tough, I had little brown circles all over my hands. I used reverse weeding to weed those small centers.
Next I used transfer tape and added the design to the black chalkboard.
I’m loving how cute this turned out and sunflowers just make me smile. We have so many good pictures from our visit, I’m having a hard time choosing one.
The Sunflowers of Sanborn are so quaint, cute, tranquil, and amazing. We had so much fun walking in the sunflowers, picking our own sunflowers to make home, and enjoying the beautiful day. We can’t wait to go back next year.
