Are getting ready to send your little one off to preschool? It’s a big step for us moms and kids. Why not sent them off in style in a special first day of preschool shirt just for them. My daughter loves unicorns, I think almost every shirt she owns has a unicorn on it (or a horse). I came across the perfect SVG and created this unicorn preschool shirt with my Cricut.
Sending my baby to preschool was hard, but the crazy thing was she just ran off. Never cried once which was such a relief because my oldest has always cried and has a hard time separating. For me it was such a relief to drop her off and see her smile and run away.

Let’s Make a Fun Unicorn Preschool Shirt
Target has had some super cute blank shirts. I think the sleeves on this one are just the cutest with the ruffles. The dark blue is going to look so good with her pink shirt. She just loves those ruffled skirts with the shorts underneath.
As with all Cricut Projects its finding that perfect SVG to design with. I found this one on
Lovesvg. Just search preschool and you will see all the different preschool svg they have for the first day of school shirts. They have a great variety of girls and boys designs and just fun preschool designs to make that first day special. If you can’t find what you need at lovesvg, visit my Ultimate List for all the free sites I love that offer free svgs.
Creating your own shirts is a fun and easy DIY (it can be really addictive). If you’ve never worked with iron on/heat transfer vinyl before, follow this Iron on Vinyl Tutorial and I will help you through the entire process to create a shirt.
Once I chose my design I uploaded it to Cricut DS. I sized it for my daughters shirt (a size small) and it’s about 6×7. Next change the colors to the colors you would like to use on the shirt. It’s purple, pink and white for this one- perfect for my little girls first day. It’s fun to get your kids involved in the creative process and have them help create their first day shirts. My kids always choose the designs when my Cricut projects involve them.

Using Iron on with your Cricut
Things to remember when using Iron on:
– make sure you click mirror image on
– put the shiny side of the iron on face down on the Cricut Mat
– weed your design and double check for any small pieces you might have missed
– Check the material of your shirt and the temperature for your heat press or iron setting
For every shirt I make, I like to layout all the pieces and see the design on the shirt.
Then figure out what can be pressed at the same time, depending on the different types of iron on. I started with the unicorn and preschool.
Then I added ready for and the swirl designs.
First Day Unicorn Preschool Shirt
The purple and pink look so good on the navy blue and the white really pops. Creating first day preschool shirts for my kids, makes me feel like a part of me is with them and they have extra confidence because of the awesome shirt they are wearing! Her Unicorn Ribbon Bow will match perfectly! I just love my Cricut!
Do you know anyone this preschool svg would be perfect for? You can never go wrong with a unicorn preschool shirt.
