Winter is still going strong here, so at the thrift store I was on the hunt for something that didn’t need painting or sanding. As soon as I saw this embroidery hoop, a light shined down on and a magical scene played in my head. It was perfect for $1.39 and so many ideas floated through my head, but I let the craft store lead me to create this Whimsical Embroidery Hoop Display.
The Rules:

Have you ever went to the craft store with ideas, but no plan? This time it worked out great. This fabric was meant for me to find that day. I love the colors and the flower design. It’s cute and unique just like me. I’ve looked at this fabric many times, but it’s premium fabric with a premium price tag. On that day it was 60% off, score!

Let’s Create a Whimsical Embroidery Hoop Display
First I took apart the old hoop and cleaned the hoop. Wow! It was super dusty. I left the hoop as is because I love the rustic look of the hoop and the color.
For the fabric, I bought 16 inches of fabric wide to fit on the hoop. I explained what I was doing at the cutting table and the Joann’s employee knew just how much to give me. Lay out your fabric, place the hoop on top and cut your fabric to fit the hoop. Oh I almost forgot, you will probably have to iron the fabric to get the fold lines out.
Add the cute fabric to the hoop by laying the hoop on top of the fabric, add some hot glue to the hoop and pull tight. Do this at the top and bottom and the two sides to make the fabric pull tight.
Then lay the outer hoop on top, but don’t tighten it. Add your ribbon to the hoop, hot glue the ribbon to the back of the hoop.
Tighten the hoop at the top and your display board is ready! Add pictures, momentos, quotes or anything that makes you smile! I’m so glad I found these medium size clothespins because sometimes those little ones just break so I went with bigger ones this time.
Embroidery Hoop Wall Decor for your Home
This time I made something just for me! I added pictures of my handsome husband and some motivational quotes. My calendar book from last year, had these great quotes every week and I cut them out to use. The Whimsical Embroidery Hoop Display is perfect for a teens room, a dorm room, craft room or really anywhere in your home! This wall art/display cost less then $5 and I have extras of all the supplies for another project.
